Waterfowl Feeding Program

Some members have been asking the Executive Board about starting up the feeding program because of the cold weather were are having.

UNFORTUNATELY whether we like it or not, the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 50, makes it illegal to distribute bait during any part of the waterfowl hunting seasons. Our hunting season on Ducks and Geese is far from over, so our hands are tied.

If this or another cold snap extends beyond the open season on waterfowl, we can revisit our options. For now, it is simply a violation of federal law to put out feed. Hopefully, this current cold snap will end soon, and the rest of the winter will have enough open water and natural feed that our ducks and geese will be OK. We will keep you notified as the season progresses.
